Study Confirms Rise in Number of Fat, Hairy Kids

Childhood obesity in the United States appears to be causing girls to reach puberty at an earlier age, for reasons that are not clear, a study said on Monday.

The report from the University of Michigan’s Mott Children’s Hospital said a multiyear study following a group of 354 girls found that those who were fatter at age 3 and who gained weight during the next three years reached puberty, as defined by breast development, by age 9.

“Our finding that increased body fatness is associated with the earlier onset of puberty provides additional evidence that growing rates of obesity among children in this country may be contributing to the trend of early maturation in girls,” said Dr. Joyce Lee, the lead author.

Horse poop! I don’t know how they did the study or how much it cost but it’s horse poop. All they needed to do was send a survey to the schools for the second grade students to find out it has nothing to do with being fat.
Many eight year olds are developing breast and they don’t have an inch to pinch. My best guess is either a better diet or more sports. All I know is that many mother and grandmother(me)are confused and have taken our girls to Doctors as we were worried about lumps they had. The answers were that the girls had BUDS the first sign of breast.
And most times these buds appear on one side only leading to the confusion.
So, if you want to get the word out give parents the information about BUDS. You’ll save us a lot of time and money. Right now it’s word of mouth with a word of caution.
