Matt Roloff Arrested for D.U.I.
The star of my favorite show “Little People, Big World” (I shit you not, this IS my favorite show) was arrested last month for driving under the influence. Rolloff, who initially told police his name was “Willow” failed a field sobriety test of following the yellow line road while singing “We represent, the lollipop guild”. He was then taken to jail, given a citation, and then released.
Seriously, no midget jokes here. “Little People, Big World” is a great show, and Matt Roloff is a great family man. This is a sad day, and I don’t want any of you internet assholes to disrespecting the man. Since little poeple are smaller than the rest of us, it’s not fair that they have to follow the same sobriety rules as the rest of us. We are denying them the right to drink as much as a normal-height person. I hope a judge realizes this and lets him off easy. And don’t worry, you anti-drunk-driving zealots, Amy will nip this thing in the butt.

You spoke too soon, I was reading the entries and I was gona say soehtign about the “since little people..etc ” phrase. I know you were not serious when you said that (were you?) and I thought that was funny. But at any rate, well he was on DUI and I hope learned a lesson there.

Who knows if he was really drunk to begin with. He drives a van with pedal extentions which could explain why he may have been swerving a bit. He walks with crutches and has bowed legs. It is very hard for a person with those disabillities to walk a straight line. He could have been stone cold sober, pissed that he was made to take this test designed for persons of average height. He could have been singing that song to make a point that the cops were being a bit stereotypical. He seams to me to be a decent family man.

In 2003, Roloff agreed to enter an alcohol treatment program after being charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants. Upon his completion of the program, the charges were dropped.[3]
On June 19, 2007, Roloff was arrested and cited on charges of driving under the influence, refusing a roadside sobriety test and failing to drive within a lane.[4] He pleaded not guilty. A trial was set for December 5, 2007.[5]
Reality is, as much as he is your hero, he is a damn drunk driver, and could have killed someone. There is no excuse for DUI. He is a pathetic role model, and should be stripped from television.

It takes training to know how to properly abuse alcohol. Matt is doing a good job with this project, just like all his others. But seriously, I’m sure he is in lots of pain with all his bad joints, operations and arthritis. Look at his fingers and the swollen joints. There was one episode where he talked about it and was taking Advil. I think the drinking is a way to numb the pain. I know my mom did that for a number of years after she had a severe bout with the Shingles. She never went driving like that though. To me, Matt should have called Amy or one of the boys to come get him and left the car. There’s nothing wrong with getting toasted, he just needed to be more responsible. If you look at his personality, he tries to do everything and never asks for help. This is another case of that. Remember he attempted to build a swimming pool and then got professionals to do it. He’s a little person and just wants to show he can do it too. Sometimes his pride gets in the way and impairs his judgment.

I think most of your thoughts and/or spelling is asinine, expecially yours tammy. Mainly i think the writer of this article is dumb. EX: “it’s not fair that they have to follow the same sobriety rules as the rest of us. We are denying them the right to drink as much as a normal-height person.” The way are DUI laws work is that they test the percentage of alcohol in our blood. Although it will take me 4 drinks to get to the legal limit and it will only take mat 2 drinks, we both will have .08% BAC. This means he is just as drunk as I am. I am actually an advocat of drinking and driving and think the laws became too strict due to the slut MADD ladys. My BAC at time of arrest for DWI was .21, which is fine. I just dont really like dumb or short people.

You guys all need to take this a little more seriously. Little person or not, he was operating a vehicle while impaired. He put not only himself, but the lives of every person he passed on the road, in danger. Also, I think the “slut MADD lady” comment is soo harsh and ignorant! Most of those “sluts” have lost children due to drinking and driving. They rallied around my family during our greiving process. I’m sure the drunk man who killed my baby brother thought he was ok to drive too. I think Matt is setting a terrible example for his children, and for everyone who watches his show. I am a woman in my twenties, who does go out and drink and have fun, BUT I ALWAYS have a designated driver. If I don’t, I don’t drink. Simple. Chris, I think you are trying to be funny. Try harder. : )

they didn’t mention anything in the article or any others I have read about a breathalyser test. only a field sobriety test. Can we keep in mind that they asked a man who walks with crutches because of his poor joint and skeletal structure, to walk the yellow line down the road….

I’ve never listened to so many idiots,but I just did now.This was a good show and the fact that Matt got caught in a DUI twice must tell you something.How could you drink and drive, get in an accident and role your car and almost kill the people in there ,and then let it happen again.What a disgrace.The simple fact that his child and wife are little should make him worry more wile under the influence because he would never see them in front or in back of the van even if he was stoned cold sober.He could have run them both over.Ya he did it and I could forgive and get over that,but the fact that he can get in front of the camera and lie to a couple of million people and treat us like we are idiots makes me sick.If he was innocent, all he had to do is take a blood test to prove it,but no he knew he was over the limit and would lose his license, so lets lie to the cops and everyone on TV.Fuckin disgrace.

I watched the show when Matt was isn court he had only 1 beer to drink.
He was arrested 3 hours later. He was offered a breath test .But he asked that someone other than the arresting officer do the test .I don’t blame him as the arrestting officer was being an Asshole. But the judge found
him not guilty . As things wasn’t handled properly.
I like the show . However, I do think Matt should help Amy out and hire her a Housekeeper. As they stay pretty darn busy with all their activities. And she is a teacher and those kids keep her running.

Listen, drinking and driving is not excusable, Im not perfect and I respect little people a lot. I dont know if he is guilty or not but no matter what, there is no excuse. His disability has nothing to do with taking other peoples life in his hands. I drink a lot. Maybe i am an abuser too but, I use dont drive, ever if I have been drinking not even one beer. I dont care who he is, what he is, what his problems are but, if he was drinking (IF) then there is ((((((NOOOOO)))))) excuses. When people say it’s his problem, its not! If you decide to put other people at risk, it is everyones problem. It wasnt my choice to put him on tv and make him a star, it was his choice so he dosnt get any sympothy from me. All that money he makes and all the vacations he goes on has nothing to do with drinking and driving. I agree, if he is guilty he should lose his carreer of being on T.V.
